Mackmyra Bruk - the environment that permeates everything
Mackmyra Bruk has been a place where natural resources have been processed ever since the Middle Ages. Iron has been forged and grain has been ground into flour. No doubt countless pitchers of schnapps have also been produced down the years. But now it is whisky that is being produced, benefiting from the fresh air and crystal clear water.
Mackmyra Bruk is well worth a visit, and not only to see the distillery. We have a living, beautiful natural mill setting, which we share with other companies and residents in the area. The beautiful buildings, hedgerows and the neighbouring park generate a sense of peace that we believe is passed onto the whisky. The burbling of the river creates a soundscape light years from the mechanical noise of the city.
If you’re a golfer you can also call in at the Mackmyra Golf Club. The course, with its own café and driving range, is only a stone’s throw from the distillery.
